Taking a premium product, reducing the costs (with definitely means reducing quality) and selling it to high price just because of the good name will work for some years - but not for long. E.g. Volvo. I read a few days ago a remarkable note: "You use to buy a Volvo because of quality - now you buying it because of design." So I see Koenigsegg a chance for Saab. Why not? Saab did work on its own. A Saab consumer still does not want a mass product. The new standard is not to have 50 000 employes that eats money but an effective assembly and localized production of all parts needed.
